Muirín (MIR een) MacNamara
Gender: Female
Orientation: Open
Age: 23
Race: Half kelpie, half human
Occupation: Page
Personality: Muirín is, by her very breeding, sly. She tends to look for a way to trick people, even when there is no particular reason to. She can have a mean streak a mile wide if she feels slighted, though she tries to keep it in check. She is a strict vegetarian because eating meat draws out her kelpie taste for human flesh. She practically worships the ground that her father (a knight) walks on, and she would love nothing more than to follow in those booted footsteps.
History: Muirín's father is a knight who unknowingly took a kelpie to be his bride. Her mother was stunningly beautiful, and her father was absolutely smitten by her. However, she could hardly stay forever in the keep with her family, since the water called too strongly to her. Soon after having Muirín, she disappeared, leaving the child motherless. Her father remarried, though he never did quite recover the cheerful personality he had before his first wife disappeared. Her half-brother, the fully human Bran, was born two years after Muirín. When her father went to fight in the Crusades, Bran was supposed to return to the capitol to become a squire, since he had already been through training as a page. However, he was more of a mind to lounge about at home. Since Muirín was eager to go in his place, the two conspired to send her, instead.
Looks: Despite frequent exposure to the sun, Muirín's skin never gets darker than a very light tan. Her hair is a dark brown and falls relatively short, considering that most women of her age have lengthy tresses. Her eyes are very dark, approaching black, and they have a slight almond shape to them. She binds her chest and relies on her loose clothing and light armour to hide what the wrappings cannot. She is plenty well-muscled enough to pass for a young man, and she definitely takes more after her father in looks than her mother. No one is likely to want to marry her because of her feminine wiles, which suits her just fine.
Powers: She has an amazing ability with horses and is able to keep them calm under the most stressful of situations. She has unusual strength for even a man, let alone a woman. She can swim exceedingly well. To those with a nose keen enough to tell the difference, she smells of a mix of water, horse, and human.
